The Unit of Culture and Childhood give inhabitants diverse cultural experiences and children and teenagers a safe childhood environment. The Unit is also responsible for other services for people who need help.
We are responsible for:
- Cultural and recreational activities
- Preventative work
- Public health
- Help to children, teenagers and families with special needs
- Measures for disabled children and teenagers
- Practical – pedagogical services
- Public health nurse and midwife services
- Child and family protection
- Integration of refugees and immigrants
- Adult education
- Social services
- Helping people find jobs and become active
- Helping drug abusers
Our goals are to:
- Create engagement and stimulate the development of a comprehensive cultural life.
- Contribute to good local societies where people experience belonging and fellowship.
- Help people to take responsibility for their own lives and develop own resources.
- Give people the possibility to have positive experiences
- Cooperate with voluntary groups and organizations, kindergartens, schools and others who are responsible for children and teenagers.
