There are five public and ten private kindergartens in Bamble.

The transition between kindergarten and school is considered a key issue. This is made visible through a common strategy plan. The plan includes five principles that the schools and kindergartens are committed to follow.

There are seven primary and secondary schools, one alternative school program and five after school programs in Bamble.  The alternative school program for selected junior high school students is situated at "Fjæra".

The unit for school and kindergarten cooperates with Bamble’s local parent panel (BKFU). Bamble county is one of the first counties in Norway to have a binding agreement of cooperation between the school and the child` s home.
